Overall, 70 per cent of school girls in Year 8 in England had all three doses of the jab, data from The NHS Information Centre revealed.

A total of 87 per cent of girls in Year 8 had at least one dose during the school year 2008/09, which means some were waiting for follow-up doses after the data was calculated.

So in the absence of more certain information, a decision to smoke marijuana recreationally means that one is taking a chance on one’s future health.’ explain Dr Stephen Schwartz.

From the study at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Centre in Seattle, Washington, they conclude that men who smoked cannabis were 70 per cent more likely to be diagnosed with the disease and men who smoked at least once a week or who had smoked since adolescence were twice as likely to have testicular cancer, they report in the journal Cancer.

‘Although a healthful dietary pattern rich in fruits and vegetables may lower cancer risk, such benefits cannot be mimicked by simply popping a few vitamin supplements’ said Dr JoAnn Manson, who carried out the research for Harvard Medical School in Boston, America.

He then added: ‘Simply taking antioxidant supplements is insufficient to prevent cancer. People should take more natural plant foods which are rich with many nutrients including but not limited to antioxidants.’

Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and Beta carotene are antioxidants.  Al this vitamins are believed to protect against damage caused by substances in the body called free radicals.
