Do you think weight loss will become easier when we play it with money? How? OK lets say we got paid every time we can reduce our weight. That will encourage us to do more right. This is the fact found by US reseachers.
According to them the weight loss program that pay people with money and let people know they will loss the money that they stand if they fail will motivate people to lose weight compared with more conventional approaches.
Dr. Kevin Volpp from University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine said that many weight-loss programs can’t be success because people always needs to makes sacrifices earlier before got rewards later on. He was looking for an effective way to overcome obesity which is a growing problem that caused very serious health risks.
After their study Volpp urge to create a different reward system program by rewards people in the present. He said ” The studies were highly effective at producing short-term weight loss, but when the money stopped flowing, the weight began to creep back on.”
“We need to establish whether they can be effective in sustaining weight loss as well,” He added
Many women think that by cut the carbs will help them to lose some weight but not many of them know that could make they lose memory too.
We need to keep in mind, Carbohydrates are such an important source of energy for our brain. Scientists found by practice Atkin-style diet for a week our mental performance will drops.
“The study demonstrates that the food you eat can have an immediate impact on cognitive behaviour. The popular low-carb and no-carb diets have the strongest potential for negative impact on thinking and cognition.”said the person who lead this research Dr Holly Taylor. Atkin diet is very popular in early 2000s.
The reseacher believe that low-carb diets will cut down the amount of glucose, or blood sugar, which is bring to the brain and used by nerve cells for energy. A low-carbohydrate diet means less fuel to power the brain cells.
Dr taylor explained ‘Although this study only tracked participants for three weeks, the data suggest that diets can affect more than just weight,’
‘The brain needs glucose for energy and diets low in carbohydrates can be detrimental to learning, memory, and thinking.’
Latest study showed that by walking about an hour a day can low down the risk of getting breast cancer for a women. So far about 40,000 British women diagnosed with breast cancer every year . This disease already killed around 12,000. It affects one in nine women at some point in their lives.
The study done by Nagoya City University in Japan. They tracked 30,000 women over 12 years to monitor their lifestyle habits and risk of cancer. Result from this study has been published in the journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention, mention that those who walked at least an hour a day, and then went jogging, swimming or to the gym for another hour once a week, were substantially less likely to have cancer.
Actually by maintaining a healthy body weight is one of the best ways to reduce the risks of breast cancer according to spokesman for Cancer Research UK.
So that maybe a good news for women because walking an hour a day not really burden but keep in mind sleeping less than seven hours a night wiped out the benefits and actually increased the risk of cancer. Just be careful.
Another shocking result found by the scientists after tracking 57,000 men and women at the age of over 20 year period. As we know, egg maybe rich with protein and vitamin but those scientists discover that one egg a day can boost your risk of diabetes.
By eating an egg a day raised the overall risk of Type 2 diabetes by a concerning 60 per cent. Bad news for women which that risk are increased to 77 per cent. However, from US study by eating just one egg a week not increased any risk.
According to the NHS its over 2 million people in England are living with diabetes and many people still don’t know they have diabetes. Keep it mind that type 2 diabetes could caused the body not producing enough insulin or not using what it produces effectively.
Pav Kalsi, care advisor at Diabetes UK, advise ‘Diabetes UK recommends that in order to reduce their risk of developing Type 2 diabetes people should follow a healthy balanced diet, low in fat, salt and sugar but high in fruits and vegetables.
England and Wales government are going to banned open tobacco display in shop. The reason they taking this action is to reduce smoking habit. Scotland are still consider to do the same thing while Nothern Ireland is yet to decide a policy.
This decision has been made after Alan Johnson who Health Secretary for England impressed with what he noticed happen at other countries which is it give an impact on smoking rate.
According to Deborah Arnott who director of the anti-smoking group ASH, she 100 % agree with the action taken because the prohibition of the display of tobacco products at point of sale would be a proportionate response to the death and disease caused by tobacco.
What we understand the government also in a discussion to ban all promotional material from tobacco packaging. That really giving headache to cigarette’s distributor.
